CHARITIES
Martin Clunes is not only a great actor. He also cares about people, animals and the countryside.
He has supported many charities for years.
Some help children and families. Others care for animals and horses. At charity events, Martin often brings his dogs or Clydesdale horses to meet people and help raise money.
On this page you can find some of the charities he supports and learn more about their work.

A Personal Note:
My Creative Offering
This page is also my way of saying thank you.
One day I would love to create special artworks inspired by these charities.
My idea is to donate them to help raise money and support their work.
Julia’s House Children’s Hospice
(Patron since 2008)
Martin plays a vital role in fundraising for this much‑loved hospice. In 2021, he planted six acres of sunflowers on his farm to raise donations, after traditional fundraising events were cancelled due to the pandemic. He frequently visits the hospice with his dogs, bringing joy and comfort to children and families.
“A wonderful, much‑loved local charity… Imagine what life would be like for families if Julia’s House didn’t exist.”
Weldmar Hospicecare Trust (Dorset)
(Long‑time supporter)
For over two decades, Martin has supported Weldmar through events like the Summer Fete and the iconic Buckham Fair, hosted on his own farm, which raised over £600,000 for local hospices. He often brings his animals along — from dogs to horses — to brighten the day for patients and visitors.
“Taking the dogs really does help… the weight of a dog on your bed is lovely.”

British Horse Society (BHS)
(President since 2011)
An avid horse lover, Martin leads BHS initiatives such as “Changing Lives Through Horses” and “Pony Stars,” which help vulnerable young people build confidence and life skills through working with horses.
“Horses never lie to you… they touch people’s hearts.”

National Autistic Society
(Patron)
Martin advocates for autism awareness and improved services for families. He has backed campaigns like The Sun’s “Give It Back” to call for better funding and respite care.
“I wholeheartedly support the need to improve funding for this life‑changing care for families – I’ve seen the difference it makes.”

Macmillan Cancer Support
(Ambassador & participant)
He regularly supports Macmillan’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning fundraiser. His involvement stems from personal experience: Martin’s father passed away from lung cancer, making this cause deeply meaningful to him.
“My family knows firsthand the devastating impact a cancer diagnosis can have… that’s why I support Macmillan’s work.”
